Juneau is one the cities located on Alaska’s Inside Passage. It is the only American capital city inaccessible by road. The only way to reach Juneau is by ship or plane. Juneau was a mining city and the prospect of gold once brought people to the city. Today, tourism is booming mostly due to the Mendenhall Glacier. Below is a view of the Gastineau Channel taken while hiking on Mt. Roberts.
